Somerville Cup Reaches the Finals

The 2005 Somerville Cup is now down to the final 2.  Both James Carey and Kevin Brodrick scored 3&2 victories in their seminfinal matches against Dan Magaletta and Eric Siegel, respectively.  Carey looks to knock off the former 2-time champion and take home his first championship.

Posting Scores

There are several different ways that you can post your golf scores for use in calculating your handicap index.  It is very important that you record all scores from rounds you play no matter what.  This is the only way that your index will truly reflect your level of play and ensure that our competitions are fair for everyone.  Regardless of the method you use for posting scores, the same information is required.

• Date of round
• Adjusted score
• Slope and rating -OR-
• Course and set of tees played

Most courses have their slope and rating posted on a website, but it is better to get the values on the scorecard, as these should be the most up to date.  Once you have this information, your score can be posted.  You should do so in the following order of precedence.

1. Post in the golf course's computer.  Most courses in Massachusetts have one, so just ask someone in the Pro Shop where it is.
2. Logon to GHIN.com and post using your GHIN number.  Your GHIN number is located on your handicap card and also on this site's Handicaps page.
3. Send the information to the Handicap Chairman.
